BENEFITS OF PILATES & GYROTONIC® EXERCISE
Both Pilates and GYROTONIC® Exercise methods increase core strength, breath capacity, reduce stress, create space and strength for the joints, lengthen musculature and decompress the spine.
The Pilates method is a predominately linear-based exercise system while the GYROTONIC® method is a spiral-based exercise system. Both methods will improve alignment and enhance Cardio practices. Read more on the tabbed pages.

PILATES
The Pilates Method, originally called “Contrology” by creator Joseph H. Pilates (German born, 1883 -1967), encouraged the use of the mind to control muscles. Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and of alignment of the spine, and strengthens the deep spinal and abdominal muscles to help keep the body balanced and provide longterm support for the spine. The linear movement is performed on a mat, or apparatus: Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, and the Barrel.
GYROTONIC® EXERCISE
Juliu Horvath created GYROTONIC® equipment and exercises after many years of intense study and self-exploration. This unique method offers the same benefits also acquired by practicing yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming and tai chi, but is not directly derived from these exercise modalities. The work decompresses the spine, improves circulation, opens the joints, stretches nerves, strengthens the core, legs, shoulders & arms, and increases coordination.
